First city visited in Vietnam and what a great experience! Amazing boutique hotel. It’s about 10min walking distance from the river and market which is great because you’re not in the midst of the chaos. The staff is so kind and warm! The spa was good as well.

We had a lovely stay there in October 2025. The staff is friendly and helpful, the room is comfortable with clean bathroom. The hotel is situated in a laneways but very close to old town. We loved to ride the bikes that the hotel provided to explore around town. Highly recommended
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay over New Years at Son Hoi An. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the staff were so lovely, providing us with a welcome drink at check in, a free room upgrade as well as many recommendations throughout our stay for places to eat, see and get clothes tailored. It is a short walk away from Old Town and we really enjoyed the pool area for a swim and a drink.
Great service from the staff, who were always helpful and welcoming. The room was tastefully decorated and comfortable. While the drinking water in the room was not free, it was reasonably priced. Plus, the hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of the night market.
This is a beautiful hotel will well appointed and spacious rooms with balconies. We had the unfortunate privilege of being in Central Vietnam during major storms and the area in Hoi An flooded. During our stay the staff were helpful and attentive. They helped us load our heavy check bags and got us safely to our transportation out of the area. During the storm we never lost power or access to clean water. They refreshed our rooms and had fresh breakfast buffet. Thank you to the staff that worked so hard to help all the guest get out during the emergency. They were calm and organized and kept everyone in good spirits! We would definitely go back and stay here again at a different time of year. I hope you will all be ok at the hotel. Our hearts and prayers for Hoi An and central Vietnam.
The hotel is very pretty with a nice pool in a plant-filled courtyard. The restaurant is pretty good -- we especially liked the green mango salad with duck -- and the breakfast is generous with many items available. The lobby and restaurant are beautiful and the staff is friendly and helpful at all hours. It's about a 10 minute walk from the tourist center which is a little far, but overall not bad. Our room was spacious with a nice balcony. The only issue is that the bathrooms are not private enough. They really cheaped out on the construction here, with just a glass wall that doesn't even go to the ceiling, with a frosted panel which doesn't provide enough privacy. There's no soundproofing or smell-proofing; you're aware of everything your roommate does in the bathroom! There's a curtain that can provide more visual privacy but you still hear (and smell!) everything. The bathtub is protected only by the curtain, which was not private enough so we didn't use it. The shower and toilet are in the same glass room, so if you want to use the toilet after someone has showered, you have to walk on the wet floor. I really don't like this kind of bathroom -- I need privacy. I need a real wall and a real door, and some separation between the wet and dry areas. I liked everything else about this hotel but because of the bathroom I might not book it again. Maybe a curtain and glass panel are sufficient for some people, but not for me. Build real bathrooms!
We found a DAMP TOWEL COVERED IN BLACK MOLD in the bathroom vent! (See photos) I really wanted to like this hotel. It's beautifully decorated and the staff is lovely. However, when we checked in, we saw obvious water damage and our room was very damp and smelled like mold. Our shower changed from cold to scalding every 5 seconds, and there was an electrical flash from the hair dryer, maybe from how damp the room was. The smell of mold was so strong I got a sore throat and congestion. We tried to request the hotel to cancel the rest of our 4 night stay and they insisted on making us stay for 2 nights total. I want to reiterate that the hotel manager was extremely helpful and professional but the owner wanted us to stay 2 nights. They tried to offer us another room which was aesthetically beautiful but also smelled like mold. I was getting more sick so we booked another hotel. To document everything for our travel insurance, we checked the ventilation system and found that a towel had been placed there and was damp and covered in black mold. Unless the hotel undergoes renovation to fix their leakage and water damage issues, it's a health hazard to stay there!
The place is absolutely gorgeous and the staff are incredibly attentive, professional, and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious. We booked the room with a balcony and bathtub – such a treat! The only minor downside was a slight smell of mold, but Vietnam is generally very humid, so it’s hard to completely avoid. The best part was the breakfast – they offer everything you could possibly want, from savory dishes to sweets, pastries, and fresh fruit. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it!
If i could give 6 stars i would. this hotel is absolutely beautiful, about a 10 minute walk to old town, which is perfect to get some quiet and a break from all the busy. the walk is peaceful too! myself and my boyfriend stayed here and loved it so much we came back during our vietnam trip. the service here is spectacular, the staff make such an effort to get to know you, and are happy to help with anything. They remember your name, and are incredibly accommodating! We especially loved Trung, one of the reception staff, who went above and beyond to make our hoi an experience so memorable and special. The rooms are neat and very clean, the breakfast is amazing, the facilities are lovely! 10/10 thank you son hoi an! we will definitely be back 💝
We had a wonderful stay at Son Hoi An Boutique Hotel & Spa. The staff were exceptional—warm, helpful, and genuinely caring. A special thank you to Trung and the lovely manager Tram for their outstanding support. When my daughter was unwell, Tram kindly sent soup to our room, and Trung helped organise medicine and a late checkout, which meant so much to us. The hotel is beautiful, fresh, and spotlessly clean, with a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Our room was comfortable, quiet, and lovely, and the pool was perfect after busy days in the centre. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and varied, with excellent salads, pastries, and fresh fruit. Thank you, Trung and Tram, for such a caring and memorable stay. We loved every moment.
Excellent service by the frontdesk and all the staff. Very friendly and nice. Easy to communicate and the room is well cleaned and prepared. Love this stay :)
The hotel was lovely, with lively colours and art EVERYWHERE 😍. The staff were so helpful and accommodating. The location is a little out of old town, but easy walking distance and free use of bikes from the hotel. …
