Mad Monkey Hoi An

This place is great, Mad Monkey always knows how to run a hostel. Huge hostel, multiple floors of rooms, great atmosphere on arrival. The staff and friendly and welcoming. The dorm was very spacious, lots of room inside. I was in the 6 bed and there was no bunks, but still had the curtains, was honestly a great sleep. Bathrooms are great, plenty of toilets and showers. All very clean and lovely to use. Didn’t have to wait once. It was low season when I was there but the staff on the activity’s really try hard to talk to everyone and get the crowd involved. I’ll give them credit for making everyone included and a fun time. Location wise it was almost a 40 min walk into town, so not recommended in the heat. The Grab bikes are easy to use and only took a few mins so that was great. If you arrive early or leave late, the common area is huge and can chill and use the toilets and power, perfect if you have a late bus. All up a great stay here, you can always really on Mad Monkey to have great facilities and friendly staff that like to party.

One of the worst hostel experiences in Vietnam. First of all they have very strict rules for being a "chill" hostel. You have to fill in information through a form and upload your passport after they already took pictutes of your passport so felt very unnecessary. Every single person was obligated to get a key card even though we were a big group and it was not necessary as it would only make the chances of losing it higher. We were not allowed to already order the breakfast for our friends who were on their way down. There is zero trust we get from the staff which makes it everything but a chill experience. Then there is the pool, swim at your own risk. There are missing tiles on the floor so if you jump in you could hit your foot on the sharp edges which happened to me and gave me cuts on the bottom of my foot. Basically its the Rynair of hostels (for all the europeans here). Very cheap rooms but terrible experience and any add ons like food or drinks are more expensive than at the city center. I would say avoid at all cost.

Very nice hostel, fun vibe and class pool. Want to give a special mention to Trang at reception she is incredibly helpful and so friendly. Definitely recommend to stay here while in Hoi An!

Just finished doing 15 day trip of Vietnam from Ha Giang down to Ho Chi Minh. We had booked two nights at Mad Monkey Hostel, resort style facilities, great rooms & the staff really set an amazing communal vibe. Shout out to Lauren F 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 for being a great host & always bringing all the different groups together during the day & getting them keen for the pub crawls & events. We had such a good time we extended for a 3rd night 🤣

Had a great stay at Mad Monkey. The twin room was a bit less than expected for the price, but the free bicycles for anyone booking a private room were great. It made it very easy to explore Hoi An. We didn’t use (or see) the shuttle ourselves. Food was actually pretty good at the hostel! Staff was a bit pushy but it was also super quiet during our stay. Definitely would recommend in Hoi An, it’s one of the better places!

Great stay, best location, clean and hygiene environment, best and helpful staff. The evening events were really nice, went for the pub crawl and it was the best. Booked tour for Ba Na Hills from the mad monkey and it was the best experience in Hoi An. Linh, Trang B, Ven were the best representative, guided and helped a lot during the stay period. Much recommended. Thanks!

If you're an experienced traveler and don't like the party scene then don't stay here. In addition, the Mad Monkey chain charges silly prices for a backpacker hostel. They're like 1 star hotel trying to charge 3-4 star hotel prices for food and drinks. You're not the Marriot, not even Wyndham. The food and drinks are small portions as well, port quality, overpriced by a lot, and just a general scam like all the other Mad Monkeys. I've stayed in three in various countries and rheyr all the same money grab scam. There are better places to stay without the headaches and bad vibes.

Mad monkey is the epitome of a party hostel, with great staff and great vibes! The rooms are clean and big with air conditioning! The free breakfast is great aswell. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants an affordable accommodation near hoi an old town!

We had a great stay here! The hostel has a fun, party vibe but you can also just do your own thing if you want. Lauren and Vu Tran were amazing – they made everyone feel welcome and created a great atmosphere. All the staff were super friendly, rooms and facilities were clean and comfortable. It’s a bit outside the center, but with cheap Grabs that was never a problem. Definitely recommend!

I keep on going back to Mad Monkey Hoi An. The hostel itself is big, it has a very nice swimming pool area, a new pool table and a foosball table. The staff is very helpful and they go above and beyond for the guests. The food is delicious, drinks cold and parties go crazy (in the best way possible). Over all big recommendation if you’re looking for a social hostel and a good time!

Upon coming here, Brett and Aleks welcomed me in and the entire time made me feel so welcome! They have such fun activities every day/night and as a solo traveler I met so many cool people. Loved the pool and balcony and felt more like a hotel than hostel! Thanks so much for a good stay!

This place is nice and has amenities, and would be five stars, but it has seen a lot of Travellers and is in need of some small repairs to achieve 5 stars from me. Examples being broken hooks in rooms for hanging clothes towels, a few showers that doors won't close or the shower itself is not working well, though they have a lot of showers so it's not like you can't take one. Otherwise very nice location with good atmosphere for more upbeat and party interested guests.
