Hoi An Ancient House Resort & Spa

My 17-year-old son and I absolutely love Hoi An Ancient House & Spa — it’s full of authentic Vietnamese charm and feels like a little oasis away from the bustle of the ancient town. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated in traditional style, and surrounded by lush tropical gardens that make it peaceful and private. The pool area is beautiful, with plenty of umbrellas and sun lounges, and it never feels crowded — a perfect place to relax after exploring. It’s about a 25-minute walk to the ancient town, which we actually love because it means you can enjoy the quiet side of Hoi A while still being close to all the action. There are plenty of local restaurants and mini marts nearby and the free bikes make getting around super easy. The hotel also runs a regular shuttle to both the ancient town and the beach, which is really convenient. The staff are what make this place truly special. Nothing is ever too much trouble — everyone is warm and welcoming. A special mention to Anh on reception for being so lovely and helpful, and to Minh, who always greeted us with the biggest smile. Minh gave us great advice, helped us whenever we needed anything, and his positive energy was infectious. One of the highlights of our stay was the free traditional rice noodle workshop, hosted by Minh. It was held by the pool and included a visit to the 200-year-old ancient house on the property where the noodles are made — fascinating to see how they’re produced and to learn that they’re still distributed to local restaurants in Hoi An today. We’ve stayed here twice now — both times for 10 days — and honestly wouldn’t stay anywhere else when we return to Hoi An. It’s a truly special place.

This review is based on Min who works here. Min from Ancient Resort and Spa was absolutely incredible, he's genuine care for the patrons of the hotel was moving. This review is based solely on Min. When the area started to flood including the area around the hotel, he came looking for us as we had small children and helped organise us to get picked up from a higher dry area. We had to wade through 30 mins of knee high water and we were carrying loads of hand luggage. Without asking, he chased us down and picked up our youngest on his back and carried her through the water the entire way. He coordinated with our pre booked driver until he found us, loaded the luggage and stayed waving us away as the driver started the journey. Honestly, it moved me almost to tears how thoughtful and caring this man was. I wish him all the blessings in the world, and hope to see him one day to say thank you again because the thanks I said wasn't nearly enough.

Fantastic stay at Ancient House Resort and Spa! This was our first trip to Hoi An and we loved the central location, amazing spa (massages and facials!), beautiful room with indoor outdoor shower, pool and bar and above else the amazing staff of the resort. The staff helped us with booking tours to bike rides to laundry and were so friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Hoi An! Chuc Mung Nam Moi 🥰🇻🇳.

We joined their rice making activity and booked coconut tour through them at a reasonable price that pick us from the hotel and dropped us at a bang beach which we requested. Bikes are in good condition and easy ride to paddy field, bikini express restaurant. Many convenience shops around the hotel. Guest relation office Minh attended to our every need.

We absolutely loved our time at Ancient House Resort & Spa. The staff were so kind and helpful, always making us feel welcome and cared for. The included breakfast was delicious! With the freshest and tastiest fruit! Especially the passion fruits 🤤 Our room was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The resort itself has fantastic amenities including a lovely pool, relaxing spa, and a well-equipped gym. One of the highlights was visiting the on-site rice paper and noodle-making factory, where the same family has been crafting noodles for generations. It was such a special and authentic experience being able to take a look inside. The location is great too! A little bit out of the hustle and bustle of the main streets, which makes it peaceful and relaxing, yet still very convenient. There are so many great restaurants, cafes, and sights nearby, and the hotel also offers a free daily shuttle to both the main strip and the beach, which made getting around super easy. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Hoi An. It's a beautiful blend of comfort, culture, and genuine hospitality!

Found our little piece of calm just a stone’s throw away from the magical lanes of Hoi An Ancient Town. The location couldn’t be more perfect — close enough to walk to all the charm, yet quiet enough to wake up to birds and not bikes. 🏡 Our room was wide, airy, and beautifully done — the kind of place you actually want to spend time in. Loved the bathroom setup — elegant and relaxing! 💫 The breakfast spread deserves a shoutout — from fresh tropical fruits to hot local dishes, everything felt carefully thought out. 🍜☕ But what really makes this place special is the people — a team so warm and well-trained that every interaction feels effortless. Big smiles, genuine care, and a touch of Vietnamese hospitality that stays with you. 💛 If you’re coming to Hoi An and looking for comfort with soul, Ancient House Resort is the one. 🌸

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and truly enjoyed every moment. The staff were very charming, supportive, and genuinely helpful, which made our experience even more pleasant. A special mention to the reception staff, who were extremely helpful in arranging our tour plans and assisting us at every step. Minh deserves particular appreciation for the warm hospitality, attention to detail, and constant support throughout our stay. We have shared some pictures with the hotel here as well, as memories of a lovely stay. We would happily come back again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

A peaceful oasis - pool, plants and rooms set our around the property. Lovely dining area where big buffet breakfast is served (western and Asian including some lovely Hoi An specialities). Big rooms and nice shower. Staff very helpful.

We stayed for 2 nights and absolutely no regrets. The place is well maintained, staffs are fantastic. A shout-out to the Guest Relationship Officer, Minh, who has certainly helped made our stay a lot more pleasurable. Always seeking out for the guests to see what we need. The in-house rice paper making session has certainly elevated the experience of staying there, as we get to see how their very own noodles that they eat are made, and also get to have a hands-on experience. The bicycles provided for guests to use have been really helpful for us to get around and get to ride like a local, experiencing the traffic.

RATS IN THE ROOM!!!!!!. My 3 friends and I stayed in the female dorm. As soon as we entered the room it smelled of mold…. there were old food and cigarette butts on the dresser that did not belong to anyone currently staying in the room. I feel terrible leaving bad reviews and I never do, but I would have really liked to know how gross this room was before booking. The room had zero air conditioning and no windows. The bathroom had bad drainage and that led to a foul smell and 2 inch of water on the bathroom floor. We had encounters with rats running across our room floor, after that we decided to check out 2 nights early and only received our money back for one night. Location was good tho!

Minh was amazing. Always a cheerful face in the morning when we had breakfast. The room was beautiful with an awesome bathroom and free standing bath. Water and some bathroom supplies are provided which was nice as we are backpacking. The breakfast was amazing with an amazing spread. The hotel also has a pool which is lovely to cool off in. They provide free buses to the city and the beach where you can spend time on the beach chairs for free if you show your towel. They also have free bike hire which is helpful to get around when on a budget. Very central and many nice places to eat and get clothes tailored around.
