So we were staying on the beach just down from the Grand Tourane , on the property just in front is a BIDV ATM . Being daytime and in a relatively safe area I went into the ATM to withdraw some Cash. After going through the steps to switch …
Grand Tourane hotel

This hotel is listed as five stars, but it no longer lives up to that rating. In Vietnam it feels like a four-star property at best, and compared to European standards closer to a three-star hotel with a polished exterior. When I arrived cold and soaked from a typhoon, the staff were dismissive and unhelpful. Later, after I changed clothes and looked “more presentable,” the attitude shifted completely and I was suddenly offered assistance. That inconsistency left a poor impression. Breakfast was below average, and based on my experience, I wouldn’t stay here again.
Great location, ocean facing. Ensure you get an ocean facing room. Oldish. Maintenance needs improvement. Service standards need to be better. Breakfast is very local, so don’t expect anything elaborate. Spa is avoidable and waste of time and money. This hotel would struggle to be called a 5 Star Hotel.
This hotel could be perfect if not because of all the noisy tourists and tour groups they solicit. Our ocean view premium room was huge , perfect view to the ocean, and just across the street to the famous My Khe beach. It’s a bit far from downtown where all the interesting life is but if you want the beach and a bit of quietness and peacefulness, this hotel would be almost perfect … if not because of all the noise in breakfast and the constant door banging by the tourists
This is the most honest review you will find of this terrible hotel. I am writing the review just on my way back. We faced so many problems in this hotel. 1) The first morning the toilet was overflowing and there was a problem with the flush. I had to call plenty of times to the hotel staff and it took them 45 mins to come and rectify the situation. As a tourist, I believe none of us have time to wait that long and we could’ve miss my tour bus. 2) We didn’t receive any warning from the hotel regarding the loss of our room key and when we lost that plastic card key we had to pay 100,000 VND for another key. 3) The housekeeping never refilled the shower gel. Since we didn’t have time to wait for them, knowing that they are very slow, we had to have our bath with the shampoo. The only good thing about the hotel was the breakfast spread. There are plenty of hotels opposite the beach in Dan Nang so if you can, do yourself a favour and stay at another hotel. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Would not recommend anyone to stay here even for a night. Highly disappointed as a frequent traveller.
I can’t say enough wonderful things about this hotel! The location is perfect right across from the beach. The food is fantastic with a wide variety, a little something for everyone. The staff couldn’t be more helpful. Our room had a view of the beach which is mesmerizing. When we come back to Da Nang we will be staying here again!
We booked a family room for two nights at this five star hotel, which was advertised as including two king size beds. Although my wife accidentally selected only two adults during the booking, we reasonably expected that a family room—equipped with two large beds—would accommodate up to four adults. Upon arrival, however, we were unexpectedly charged additional fees for two adults and one child. I’ve heard stories about tourists being taken advantage of in Da Nang restaurants and taxis, but I was genuinely surprised that a government certified five star hotel would engage in similar practices. This experience left us extremely disappointed.
Nice room, a little worn out over time but still good. Friendly Staff, can be a bit challenging to communicate but in return they are very respectful and kind. Staying almost at the top of the hotel and the view is amazing. I also love the position of the hotel this close to the beach. Breakfast is okay+ for me, though i have very high standards on hotel breakfasts. Can reccomend this hotel
I stayed at this hotel with children and, unfortunately, I do not recommend it for families with kids. The hotel is located on one of the busiest and most dangerous sections of the beachfront road. Crossing the street to reach the beach is very unsafe, especially with children, due to heavy traffic and the lack of pedestrian-friendly crossings. This was a constant source of stress during our stay. The hotel is not prepared to accommodate children. There are no child-friendly facilities, no safe play areas, and no special considerations for families traveling with kids. Cleanliness is another important concern. Unfortunately, the overall level of cleanliness is closer to that of a 2-star hotel, which is disappointing and not what is expected from a hotel of this category. Room cleaning was inconsistent, and some common areas did not feel well maintained. Regarding food, the breakfast is reasonable, but dinner at the hotel restaurant is quite disappointing, with limited and low-quality options. On the positive side, there are many good restaurants outside the hotel nearby, offering much better choices for dinner. While this hotel may be acceptable for adults or couples who prioritize location, it is not suitable for families with children. For those traveling with kids, I strongly recommend choosing a hotel that offers better safety, cleanliness, and family-oriented facilities.
We stayed at the Grand Tourane Hotel, Da Nang, for two nights from 3rd to 5th January, as a family of three (my husband, our 6-year-old child, and me). To begin with, the positives: the sea-facing room was spacious, comfortable, and genuinely lovely. The view was beautiful and, during our stay, everything seemed fine. Unfortunately, the experience took a sharp turn at checkout — enough to completely sour our impression of the hotel. We had not used room service or consumed any minibar items, so we expected a quick, fuss-free checkout. Instead, we were unpleasantly surprised to discover what felt like a deliberate and misleading practice around bottled water charges. The room comes with two small 330 ml Aquafina bottles, complimentary for three guests, which is already inadequate. There were also two larger Aquafina bottles placed in the room, but nowhere were we informed that these were chargeable — and at nearly four times the market price. The minibar menu explaining this was only in Vietnamese, making it impossible for international guests to understand. Naturally, we assumed the larger bottle was complimentary — especially when staying as a family with a child. It’s reasonable to expect at least one litre of drinking water in a room for three people. At checkout, we were asked to wait while the room was “checked.” Five minutes later, a receptionist rushed over claiming that a pair of rubber slippers provided by the hotel was missing. We asked them to recheck — and unsurprisingly, the slippers were right there in the room. Another five minutes passed before we were told we had consumed one of the larger water bottles. When we explained that we believed it was complimentary, the staff pointed to the Vietnamese minibar menu and indicated a line item we couldn’t even read, insisting it was chargeable. What made this even more frustrating was breakfast the next morning — when a staff member immediately stopped guests from refilling their water bottles from the breakfast water dispenser. Clearly, the priority is forcing guests to buy overpriced bottled water rather than offering basic hospitality. It honestly felt petty and absurd. This entire episode left a very bad taste. The hotel’s approach comes across as nickel-and-diming guests rather than putting customers first. For a property of this category, this is unacceptable. While the room itself was good, the lack of transparency, poor communication, and questionable practices at checkout mean we would not choose to stay here again — nor would I recommend it to families or international travelers.
Comfortable hotel close to the beach, the breakfast is very varies. The hotel’s staff is really kind. The room with ocean view is amazing
The Grand Tourane Hotel may be rated as a 5-star property, but when it comes to customer experience and basic hospitality, it falls shockingly short.||The most appalling issue is their water policy, which feels deliberately designed to trap …
