Cheerful Hoi An Hostel

Such a great hostel, the host is incredible and makes everyone feel so valued. Remembers everyone’s name from the first instant (literally everyone) and included little snacks and drinks throughout. She even cooks everyone a breakfast every morning and does a free food tour. Would infinitely recommend this hostel, social vibe is good but homely vibe is unmatched.

Mama the owner was so amazing, took care of us so well. She told us all the best spots in hoi an, and how not to get scammed. Her hostel is amazing, great vibes, filling and free breakfast. Rooms are clean with free towels and soap and showers were always warm and water didn’t run out. Overall amazing experience, I really fell in love with hoi an

I intended to stay at the hostel for a couple of nights, but ended up staying almost a week. The hostel owner makes you feel welcome from the beginning and she is extremely helpful. The location is really great: close to the centre and lots of nice restaurants/bars in the neighbourhood. Breakfast is really nice too. My room was very spacious. Would definitely recommend!

Absolutely loved the experience mainly thanks to the incredibly kind and helpful Hien, the hostel owner, who made us feel so welcomed and was a great help to us during our trip, and even came early when we arrived from our night bus to make sure we weren't caught out in the rain! Will definitely come again when I return to Vietnam. And delicious pancakes!! Food tour was also very yummy and great value for money. Can't reccomend enough, thank you Hien!💞

Highly recommend! The cleanest hostel I’ve ever been. They clean the rooms every day and the breakfast is amazing! Hien is the loveliest, most caring host I’ve ever met! From the moment I arrived I was feeling instantly like I am home. She cares about you like a second mom and always tries to make your stay perfect with a lot of good recommendations!

We really enjoyed our stay at Cheerful Hostel in Hoi An. Hien, who runs the hostel, is very friendly, kind and helpful. She made us feel like we were at home. The hostel is very clean and bicycles are included, which is great for getting around Hoi An. On our travel day, Hien even made a very delicious vegetarian Bahn Mi for us. This was very sweet and thoughtful. She also gave us good recommendations for a tailor and made sure we got a fair price and good quality. We highly recommend this hostel and would love to stay here again.

Best hostel I’ve stayed at in Vietnam. Great value for the quality of hostel - rooms and bathroom are very clean, well-maintained and looked after. Breakfast included is amazing - choice of pancakes or eggs with baguette, fruit and hot drink. Great location as it’s out of the noisy centre but an easy 15-20 min walk. The other Hien is the loveliest person and has great recommendations for places to visit, eat, things to do, clothes tailors etc. Worth every penny :)

One of the best if not the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at. Mama Hien (the host and owner) is so kind and generous. She will help you with anything (anything!!!) you need. Finding the best tailor, recommendations for activities to do in Hoi An, bookings and onward transport. She even leads her own food tour at no charge—just the cost of your own food!! I met so many fantastic people while staying here—it’s very social and easy to run into others. Cannot recommend this place enough.

I can’t talk better about a place than Cheerful cafe. Hein the host is so welcoming, friendly, and hospitable. She helped make an itinerary of all the good things to do in Hoi An. If you need a place to stay really look no further. Rooms are huge, good atmosphere in the hostel, and great breakfast. Thank you so much for having us.

This was probably the best accommodation I’ve ever stayed at in terms of human connection. Although it's called a hostel, it feels much more like a warm, welcoming homestay. The owner is absolutely incredible and goes above and beyond to make everyone feel at home. I met so many amazing people there, the kind of travelers who instantly feel like lifelong friends. If you are going to Hoi An and want to feel like you’re part of a family rather than just a guest, you have to stay here. It was a truly authentic and heartwarming experience.

I can’t recommend Cheerful hostel enough. Hien is one of the most accommodating people I’ve ever met. She organises anything you want to do and has tones of good recommendations. It was my birthday during my stay and she made the day feel so special and even bought me a cake 🥺 as if this couldn’t be topped she made me and my parter a Banh Mi for our evening bus ride! So stay at Cheerful for the most wholesome stay of your trip! I also highly recommend the coffee making class🤩
