Incredibly unfortunate experience here. The rooms have no sound proofing at all. The people in the room next to us began playing music and talking loudly as of 5am in the morning. The response of the hotel owner instead of letting us change rooms or offering a discount was that “5 am was not too early”. If you don’t have anyone in the room next to you it is not too bad but if there is anyone beside you, good luck sleeping and don’t expect any customer service.

I stayed here for 4 nights and it was the hotel with the lowest price I stayed in during my Vietnam trip yet it is also the cleanest and overall the best. I had a room with a balcony and the view was amazing. The hotel is located away from the busy city center so it’s very peaceful during the night. The service was great too. After booking they ask me if I need a transfer and during check in they introduce me to some activities I could do during my stay in Hoi An. The staff members are very friendly. I’d definitely stay here again, when I’m back in Hoi An 😊
Was honestly underwhelmed by the hotel overall. The rooms were noisy - especially in the washroom where we could hear the people beside talking at night. The wall outlets were super difficult to get our plugs/adapters into and I would’ve rather been off that island because there really wasn’t much else on it. Was also a bit disappointed with the breakfast too it looked decent but the flavour just wasn’t there and it wasn’t warm
Perfect for a Calm and Relaxing Stay! Stayed here for 6 days and loved it! I wanted a peaceful place away from the hustle and bustle, and this was exactly what I needed. The rooms are super clean, the staff are so friendly, and it’s only a 15-minute walk to the old town, which is perfect for me. This isn’t a party hostel, but if you’re looking for a chill and quiet atmosphere, it’s great. Met some cool travelers too! Highly recommend.
Calm House Hotel is an amazingly gorgeous budget hotel. It has a beautiful lobby with some puzzles and games you can play, a nice dining room, even nice-looking pool which I didn't get the chance to use because it was cool when I stayed there. There are dormitory rooms on the main floor, and the private rooms are all above ground floor. There is no elevator there. My room was huge and I found the bed super comfortable. I had my best sleeps there. They have a small menu there from which you can order. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They helped organized the basket boat tour for me. The location was nice too. It's less than 10-minute walk from the hotel to Old Town Hoi An. I loved this hotel and I cannot recommend it highly enough!
It’s a very nice and quaint place. True to it’s name it’s a “calm house”. The staff is very gentle and helpful. The rooms are also very cute. Location is nearby the Hoi An night market, you can easily walk there.
I enjoyed my stay in Hoi An very much. Especially the host of the Calm Houses, Flower, was very kind and took care of all aspects of my stay. Full recommendation!
We had such a great time at calm house! The staff was more than nice they warmly welcomed us and as my friend was sick made it possible to get hot water etc as well as a private room! They were always worried to be the best hosts and the place itself is amazingly beautiful🌟
Had such a great stay! The team there are so welcoming and friendly as well as fantastic with communication. Rooms are spacious and clean. Close to everything you need. They gave us loads of recommendations on great eats. Laundry is available for a small cost. Couldn’t have had a better stay. Breakfast is super yummy. Highly recommend, thanks again for a great experience!
I stayed at the Calm House for two nights. We had booked a private room which was more than lovely but the dorms also looked great! The location was very convenient being quiet but still close to old town. During my stay I unfortunately was sick but all of the staff went beyond to ensure I was rested and comfortable. I can’t thank them enough! They also arranged a cab to da nang for us which was great value and extremely convenient. Thank you 1000 times!! ❣️
Stated for a night in this hotel. It is more like a house, so the vibe is very cozy
Good things about the place: The lobby is very beautiful and really lives up to the name Calm House. I loved the detail of taking your shoes off at the entrance, I don’t know if that’s common in Vietnam, but coming from Croatia it felt special and welcoming. The reception was warm and helpful throughout the stay. The view from my room was absolutely stunning. I stayed on the top floor overlooking the river, with pure nature, water, and even buffalos, honestly a million-dollar view. The furniture is mostly traditional, old-style, solid wood, which adds a lot of character. The location is good - not far from the center - and if you rent a motorbike, it’s actually perfect. Bad things about the place: This feels like a place that was designed and built with a lot of thought and investment, but unfortunately isn’t maintained with the same level of care. The headboard had stains on it, and the bathroom clearly needed re-siliconing. Overall, the place could really use a deep clean. The wooden balcony fence wasn’t painted or coated, so the bare wood is exposed to the weather. There’s no elevator - understandable for a three-story building - but if you’re not traveling light, carrying luggage up and down the stairs isn’t fun. To be fair, the owner did help us carry our largest bag upstairs, which I appreciated. Sound insulation is below average. I could literally hear other guests talking as if they were in the same room. Luckily, our neighbor was alone and fairly quiet. The worst part (and the reason for the 1-star review): I got sick on the second day of my stay and believe it was due to the air conditioning unit not being cleaned - something I’ve unfortunately experienced before in Asia. When I opened the AC, the filters were completely clogged with thick, compacted dust and lint. This wasn’t a light surface layer - it looked like 12+ months of buildup. The manufacturer recommends cleaning AC filters every two weeks, so I honestly don’t understand how this is overlooked, especially when rooms are cleaned daily. This is a serious health issue, and even more concerning when you’re traveling and have flights booked.
