The rooms were good, but the wifi was super annoying. It's like they're still stuck in the 2000s with their setup. They have a bunch of wifi connections, but none of them work perfectly, and we had to keep rejoining because the connection was so bad. When we complained, they couldn't really do much. Thank goodness we only stayed for a day!

The grounds at Almanity are genuinely beautiful. The pool is huge, spotless, and never crowded. The landscaping is lush, the koi pond is lovely, and the property feels very safe with visible security. The breakfast buffet is also very large and offers an impressive selection of dishes. The staff were all friendly, helpful, and kind. If this hotel were rated purely on its exterior spaces and breakfast offerings, it would score much higher. Unfortunately, everything beyond the public areas feels like an afterthought and some issues are absolutely unacceptable. This is the kind of hotel that pours all its energy into picture-ready marketing and none into the actual guest experience. The rooms look fine at first glance, but as soon as you look closer, they’re only surface-level clean. The towels are old, thin, frayed, and scratchy. You get one tiny bar of soap for your entire stay — no hand soap, no basic toiletries — and no coffee or tea in the room whatsoever. You must go to the lobby for it. There are six separate signs in the room about “stealing” items, including a price list for everything from pillows to one of their wooden QR-code rule signs. There are also warnings on the bed about staining the sheets and being charged for it. Instead of feeling welcomed, you feel monitored. There are also multiple signs about reusing towels. Eco-friendly towel reuse would be admirable if it weren’t contradicted by obvious cost-cutting everywhere else. The water situation is especially odd: instead of providing bottled water (in a country where the tap water is unsafe to drink), they give you two refillable glass bottles and a sign stating you’ll be charged if you want more. It feels cheap, not eco-friendly. The in-room “welcome jars” of dried fruit and nuts are also puzzling. They are clearly reused grocery-store jars with the old label glue still on them. (See photos.) For a hotel marketing itself as higher-end, this is unhygienic and amateurish. What was in them previously? Were they sterilized? Gross. The rooftop “Jacuzzi” is not a Jacuzzi — it’s a jetted tub (though it is big enough for two) that you must manually fill, and a sign warns it will take at least 40 minutes. (Which it does.) There is also no elevator to the third floor, which is worth noting if mobility is a concern. Again, I can’t name a single “5-star luxury hotel” where I have to haul my luggage up flights of stairs. Finally, the hotel posts (and verbally repeats at check-in) a rule forbidding guests from bringing any outside food or drink onto the property. We literally had to sneak a pizza in under an umbrella to avoid being stopped. There are rules posted on the walls everywhere in the lobby as if this were a Holiday Inn at Daytona Beach during spring break. (Again, see photos.) Almanity has gorgeous grounds, a great pool, and a large breakfast buffet. But the rooms, amenities, and overall guest experience fall far below the standard they advertise. With investment in basic room quality and a shift away from constant warnings and upcharges, this could be a genuinely lovely hotel. As it stands, it feels more like a photo-op resort than a comfortable, guest-focused place to stay. Not terrible — but nowhere near the luxury or five-star experience it claims to be. Would not stay again.

It takes about 5–7 minutes to reach the main road. The hotel itself has a traditional architectural style, while the pool area feels very modern and stylish. I think it’s a great choice for couples. There were no large Chinese or Korean tour groups during my stay, so the atmosphere felt much more peaceful and pleasant. There’s just one drawback: the soundproofing isn’t great. However, it’s still within a range you can easily experience at many other hotels, so it wasn’t a major issue.

All the best raves for the Almanity. The staff across the hotel are amazing. The service always 10/10. We enjoyed our 30th Wedding Anniversary here, surprised with an extra special dining experience. The Vietnamese cuisine is exceptional. Highly recommend staying here. All staff from Management across the facilities are professional and communicate effectively. We were here during some unprecedented weather systems and we felt well informed and safe always. Daily updates and cautionary advice helped us plan our days to support the locals without unnecessarily placing ourselves at risk. Thank you Almanity for our precious memories ❤️🙌🏾🙏🏽❤️🙌🏾🙏🏽

We had a wonderful trip at Almanity in Hoi An. The staff, especially Diep, Vhuy and Binh, were all incredibly hospitable, helpful and personable. They even hurried to return a bracelet we had forgotten in the room on our way to the airport. The breakfast is delicious and has a ton of variety. We enjoyed a complimentary foot massage at the spa as well. The rooms are spacious and clean. Would recommend!

Must stay here in Hoi An! Fabulous hotel, friendly welcoming staff. Perfect location, short walk to the old quarter and nice and quiet. We had a huge room that overlooked the beautiful pool. Easily the nicest place we stayed in Vietnam. They also arranged a transfer to the airport with Vu who was the nicest driver! His English was awesome and we had a lovely chat!

Location is great for this 5 star hotel in Hoi An. The rooms are dated and a little dark, but otherwise quite nice. Bathrooms are ok- very basic for a 5 star hotel in this price range. The star attraction of this hotel is the pool as you can see in the stock photos. Service is pretty good. Location is wonderful, and the gardens are quite nice and beautifully maintained. I requested a change from the superior/Loft room I booked because it had too many stairs and the bedroom upstairs was a bit claustrophobia-inducing. Too many step ups and step downs to the bathroom and back which I didn’t appreciate. And the WiFi didn’t work either. After requesting the front desk to change my room, initially I was met with resistance and told if I changed, I’d have to pay an additional fee, which was considerable. I requested the staff speak to the manager, who, to his credit, he did, and they ended up changing my room to a regular room. This wasn’t as nice or had any special features, and have to say- the bathrooms were dingy and even more basic - but at least it was less stairs and step ups and downs. It was most definitely a room going for a lesser rate than I originally paid at booking.com; but I was pleased they honored my request. We used the spa and that was ok. Very expensive for the money we spent, but it was nice to have a clean facility to unwind right on the premises. Breakfast buffet is quite good. Enjoyed the yogurt and the muesli, fresh herbs and vegetables from their garden (which we didn’t see or spot on the premises), a decent selection of local fruits and a range of Korean and Vietnamese options.

We stayed at the hotel with a group of friends and truly enjoyed every moment. The rooms were spacious, the food was delicious and plentiful, and the pool was amazing. Above all, the warm and courteous service from each and every member of the hotel staff truly stood out — especially My My, who went above and beyond to help us with everything we needed. Thank you very much. רוצה נ

Our second visit to this resort and it’s is still amazing. Staff are friendly and so helpful. The restaurants are great with the breakfast buffet being one of the best I’ve ever seen! Room service menu is great and food is so yummy. Very conveniently located just a 5 minute walk to Hoi An old town. So many food and shops located close by. The resorts’ wellness spa was amazing - we had a 1 hour couples massage with a 1/2 hour jacuzzi and felt like jelly mush afterwards! They were so great! The only downside is that we booked an accessible room which as I’m semi-ambulant is fine, very roomy and suits my needs perfectly. However if you were a full time wheelchair user you would have difficulty manoeuvring around the bathroom, onto the bed and wouldn’t have access to the pool or wellness spa which all have stepped access. I’ve put captions about the accessibility of the room on the photos. The foyer, restaurants and walkways are all accessible with ramps where there are steps. Just not into the pool or day spa areas.

We visited this hotel in October and it is a great hotel. Conveniently located about a 10 minute walk from the old town or very close if you use a Grab taxi. What I liked about this hotel it is quiet, conveniently located to shops and conveniences and restaurants without being too near the old town. Which I liked as the old own can be very busy (lovely but busy). We had a loft room which was fun, but not if you have mobility issues or small children as the stairs to the loft room may be a little steep in the night, but don't let that put you off as there as a lot of room options to choose from. The hotel grounds and pool are just amazing, clean and the staff are incredibly helpful, but not overpowering. They generally want to make your stay perfect. The breakfast is vast and plentiful with a LOT of options. Everything restocked and areas impeccably clean. Staff very helpful at breakfast, explaining options and what hot options were available etc. The main restaurant is lovely as well and we visited twice for lunch, plenty of options and beautifully presented. Please note that there are other restaurants and food options nearby in the surrounding area but my husbands back was not good on the days we stayed so visiting the onsite restaurant suited us and it didn't disappoint. Overall a fab hotel, which I would definitely stay at again.

We had an unforgettable stay at the Almanity Hotel. The staff took great care of us and everything was perfect! We would like to give special thanks to Danh at the pool, who did everything to make our stay perfect, as well as Qhuy, Zippy and No at reception, who were lovely ! Thank you for everything! We hope to return soon and would recommend this hotel without hesitation! See you soon ! ❤️😃

Lovely hotel in Hoi An! This is my second time staying in Almanity (1st: June 2023 and now: January 2026) and love it even more than the first time! Only a short walk to the river/main strip. The resort also offers bikes as an alternative to walking. Breakfast is also included, offering a range of Asian and western options. Staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable, and were easily able to arrange a spa package, tickets to events and tourist attractions, private driver to Ba Na Hills, and airport transfer. A massive thank you to Lien for her hospitality, who greeted us with a smile every day and made sure we had what we needed to make our stay the most enjoyable it could be. And thank you to Ba for driving us to and from Ba Na Hills, waiting for us, and ensuring we had a very smooth ride. Couldn’t recommend this hotel and resort more to anyone staying in Hoi An.
